The City of Dothan collected nearly $7.9 million in sales tax during October, the first month of the 2024 fiscal year, which began on Oct. 1, 2023, and ends Sept. 30, 2024. Revenues were $1,203 under last year’s October collections and $326,961 or 4.34% over what the city budgeted to collect. Last fiscal year, the city received over $96 million from sales tax collections, marking a $4 million increase from 2022.The monthly sales tax report includes the general sales and use tax, automotive sales tax, machines and manufacturing tax, agriculture tax, and alcohol tax.
