Doncaster Sheffield Airport owner Peel says the wind-down will begin on 31 October.
In July, Peel Group began a review into the airport, saying it was no longer commercially viable
But Peel Group said services at the airport, which employs 800 workers, would wind down from 31 October. "The intractable problem remains the fundamental and insufficient lack of current or prospective revenue streams, together with the airport's high operating costs," he said. Mr Hough said he was grateful to the airport's staff who he said had always been DSA's "greatest asset".He said the immediate priority would be to "continue engaging closely with them over the next few weeks".
