Donald Trump Jr. said it 'has been hard to watch' Democrats and the media attack his father, and that both worked to create 'a narrative that they want to be true because they couldn’t explain the outcome of the last election.'
Appearing on Fox News' Tucker Carlson Tonight on Monday, President Donald Trump's oldest son, Donald Trump Jr., railed against the Democratic party and the media in the aftermath of special counsel Robert Mueller's concluded investigation.
"It feels great. I mean, because I was a big part of all of this going on. I’m the one that took the daily incoming, the nonsense," Trump said, adding that he knew that the campaign had done nothing wrong before he turned the tables to accuse Democrats of collusion."Certainly, when you look at what the other side was doing you realize that it was them in fact colluding, not us.
Carlson then asked why Democrats would not just move past the Russia investigation and instead focus on"a conventional political debate" about policy, prompting Trump to respond that Democrats used the investigation as a distraction because the policies pushed by the party"don't work." "There’s no accountability for that," Trump said."Because when you are on that side and you have the media carrying your water for you, you can say whatever you want. When you are on our side, even when you’re right, even when you are proven so, there’s a level of culpability. There are repercussions for being a conservative that you don’t face if you are on the other side."
Trump also called for investigations of Hillary Clinton, Fusion GPS, Christopher Steele and others to"look into how this all started," referring to the Mueller investigation.
