Officers seized the animal, which reportedly looked like a pitbull, during last night's incident.
A dangerous dog is said to have been sprayed with gas by armed cops as they and members of the public desperately tried to control the rampaging animal. It's claimed the animal, which is said to have looked like a pitbull, "locked its jaws around a white cockapoo" and left it in a pool of blood in the street.
As reported by our sister title, WalesOnline, one said: "I’d just got in from work and I heard screaming outside. I looked outside and there was a woman screaming and then there was this massive extra large pitbull attacking a cockapoo. "I couldn’t tell whether any people were injured, I wasn’t sure. People were so brave trying to save the dog but I’m not sure whether they got injured. Loads of people came out of their houses and there were people screaming.
