New plans are being considered
Dog owners in Northampton could be slapped with a £100 fine if they are caught without poo bags or if their dog is caught off its lead in the wrong place, under new plans being considered by West Northamptonshire Council .
The council said in a statement the PSPO will make it an offence for someone to walk more than four dogs at once in public spaces. "However, that requirement is not being enforced whilst conversations continue with representatives of professional dog walkers and consideration is being given to the development of a licensing scheme and associated code of conduct to support these groups", it added.
