Mum Laura Piert said doctors told her the bite was one level below death, missing his lung and other organs
A mum said she would "rather it had been me" after her five-year-old son was left "lucky to be alive" after being attacked by a dog. Laura Piert said Jaxon was playing at the back of a friend's house when the incident happened.
Speaking to the Liverpool ECHO, Laura said: "Doctors said it was lucky missed his lung and organs. They said his bite was a level five, level six is death. He's lucky to be alive." Speaking about the incident, Tom told the ECHO: "It had ripped all the tissue out of his arm. I was working on the private ambulances at the time and had seen dead bodies, I was used to it, but when saw Kayden's arm I went white, I think because it was my own son."
The dad added Kayden has also been receiving counselling at school following the dog attack. He also said someone else was allegedly attacked by the same dog in July, however a spokesperson for Merseyside Police there was no evidence or information that incident took place.
