PHOENIX — The Dodgers are ready to do what they probably should have done at the start of the season – put Max Muncy on the injured list.
He spent the offseason rehabbing the injury rather than having surgery. But Muncy acknowledged in spring training that it “might not be back to normal until next year.” “It’s something that just hasn’t felt right. But players all the time don’t feel right. But they’re not in a situation where they could have taken a path to have a surgery or not have a surgery either. We chose the path to stay the course and rehab, which we feel is the best course of action. But to kind of listen to the body a little bit might help too.”
“I think it’s smart for us to consider the IL. Obviously, the player doesn’t want to do that. But I think potentially for him and for us, it might be the best course of action.”
