Consultants told Letby's trial they were urged 'not to make a fuss'
Doctors who raised the alarm over Lucy Letby were 'ordered to apologise to her', it has been reported.
One of these reviews, by the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, was said to have recommended increasing staffing levels and other measures while the second review also made recommendations and urged further examination of four 'unexplained' deaths.The hospital's then chief executive Tony Chambers reportedly ordered doctors to write a letter of apology to her in January 2017 for repeatedly raising concerns about her.
Mr Chambers told healthcare journal HSJ: "All my thoughts are with the children at the heart of this case and their families and loved ones at this incredibly difficult time. I am truly sorry for what all the families have gone through. Mr Chambers said it was 'incorrect' to suggest he had said Letby had done nothing wrong, adding that he would have been quoting Letby's father who was of that view.
