Carry On and Doctor Who actor Bernard Cribbins has died at age 93. Cribbins portrayed Tom Campbell, The Doctor's companion in the 1966 film Dalek's Invasion Earth 2150 A.D., and returned to the franchise several times in the 2000s. He was most notable for his role as Wilfred Mott, grandfather of the Tenth Doctor's companion, Donna Noble.
Cribbins, born in 1928, became known in the UK as a comedic actor after appearing in films like 1961's Two-Way Stretch and the series Carry On. He was the narrator for the British children's series The Wombles from 1973 to 1975, launching a very successful career in voiceover and narration work. In 2011, Cribbins received his OBE from Princess Anne for his services to drama. He was also the recipient of numerous major awards for his contributions to children's arts and television.
