Gillespie initially pushed member of staff Stela Kutsarova at the Picture House bar which led to him being arrested.
He then continued his behaviour towards police - spitting and making racist, homophobic and sectarian remarks. Gillespie pleaded guilty today at Glasgow Sheriff Court to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner.The court heard that Gillespie and others were refused service by staff at the Picture House due to their state of intoxication.Other customers attempted to intervene to calm the situation but Gillespie said he would “smash” them.While he was in a cell van, Gillespie spat at PC Joshua Gorman with it landing on his arm.
Sentence was deferred pending background reports until next month by Sheriff Gerard Considine who continued Gillespie’s remand in custody meantime.
