The Cowboys EVP also discussed the continuity of the team’s starting group of offensive linemen.
Stephen Jones, COO of the Dallas Cowboys football team, arrives for the NFL league meetings Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2023, in New York.on Friday, where he revealed that the team doesn’t have anything in the works at the moment as the NFL’s trade deadline nears.“I don’t think there’s anything that’s just really in the works or that’s really got our attention right now,” Jones said. “Obviously, we really like our roster. We’ve only been getting healthier the last couple of weeks.
Jones called the continuity within that group a “huge advantage”. While establishing the running game has been an issue for the Cowboys’ offense, Jones believes the strengthening of the offensive line will pay dividends moving forward.“We got to continue to execute and get better in everything we do out of both sides, all three phases for that matter,” Jones said.
“We just have to continue to grind it. I love the fact that we stick with it. I think it’s complementary football to our defense in terms of time of possession, and keeping our defense fresh. I think it’s just a matter of continuing to get better as the season goes forward and continue to execute.”
