Expensive divorces could soon be much cheaper as the government looks to review 50-year-old 'outdated' laws – which would seeThe rules around how financial assets are divided up when couples split will be reviewed, because current laws are costly, confusing and loopholes exist.

It means, due to the lack of clear guidance, and because there is not one set rule, divorcing couples are more likely to be drawn into legal battles to fight for what they can. These battles are costly owing to legal fees.
