A new Distinguished Young Women winner will be named Saturday night in Mobile.
Distinguished Young Women, formerly known as America’s Junior Miss, is a nonprofit organization founded in 1958 in Mobile. High school girls compete in local and state programs each year, and winners from each state move on to the national finals. Participants are evaluated in the following categories: scholastics , interview , talent , fitness and self expression .
This year’s national finals are set for Thursday through Saturday, June 23-25, at the Mobile Civic Center theater, 401 Civic Center Drive. Tickets are $22 for preliminary events at 7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, $44 for the finals at 7 p.m. Saturday.
