Residents in a Nottinghamshire village have said ‘disgusting’ litter on a public footpath 'spoils the area'.
Kirsty Filsell, 35, has lived in the area for six years. She said: “It’s annoying that they can’t go to the tip. It’s disgusting. It’s [been like this] a long time.She added that one time there was a lot of litter near the car park of Lambley Lane Park. She continued: “It’s just so annoying, most of us just go to the tip. I’ve seen a mattress down there. They think they can get away with it.”
Katrina Ellis, 64, said: “I’ve been here for 10 years and all this area gets fly-tipped. It’s been like this for years. The council has been cutting down the hedges. In places it is bad.” Another local, Thomas Cox, 51, said: “It’s always been pretty bad around here. I’m aware of the problems with fly-tipping. I think it's just lazy and spoils the area.
