Prosecutors have been forced to drop a £167,000 proceeds of crime claim against a dodgy Major after it was confirmed that he had died.
But at Dundee Sheriff Court this week, the Crown formally withdrew the action after fiscal depute Gavin Burton said Grantham had recently passed away. Fiscal depute Lynne Mannion said Grantham's wife granted him access to her bank account as she trusted him to run the household finances. Grantham wrote a cheque for £25,765 from the joint account which was rejected by the bank.
