A family have paid tribute to a 15-year-old girl who died after an incident at the Carr Mill Dam in St Helens yesterday.
A 15-year-old girl who died after getting into difficulty while swimming has been named and pictured.She died followingThe teenager and friends had been swimming at the body of water when Erin reportedly got into difficulty.
She posted the message on the St Helens Borough Council Facebook page, after the local authority warned people of the dangers of swimming in open water following Erin’s death. Erin’s friends had raised the alarm around 12.30pm yesterday, with emergency services carrying out a multi-agency response to try trace the schoolgirl.in the wake of Erin’s death, encouraging people to share what they can to support her family.
She wrote: ‘My friend and her family lost their beautiful daughter, granddaughter, sister and friend due to a tragic accident that should never have happened. She had the rest of her life to look forward to she was a beautiful soul inside and out she be gone but never forgotten.’Debris and cold temperatures can take people by surprise, no matter how warm the weather is.
