The Lions have a plan to get Williams acclimated in time for Sunday’s game.
The second-year wideout had his suspension reduced, but the Lions want to make sure he's capable of contributing when they give him the proverbial green light.
"He just literally got back. He got back last week, but we're getting ready for Green Bay, we're not practicing or anything like that. But he was in the building and continued to train," Dan Campbell told Lions'."So really, was the first day to get him out on the grass, a significant practice, watch him move and all those things. So I just think that's day one, that's day one back with your helmet on, your pads, running around.
In his absence, the Lions have gotten good contributions from others such as Amon-Ra St. Brown, Kalif Raymond and Josh Reynolds."Just trust that we know he's gonna be where he's supposed to be when he's supposed to be there," Campbell explained."He's gonna be in the alignment he's supposed to be in, he's gonna hit the depth he's supposed to be.
"Yeah, we have thought about it. Certainly we've talked about doing it, we could do it, I don't want to break Jared Goff either," Campbell stated."There's a time to do it and good things, but I also don't want to put him in a suitcase and fold him backwards and crack him in half and then he's sitting between two tight ends, a half back, their defensive line and linebackers. But, when needed, yes, we can do it. We have it and we've talked about it.
