The second-year rusher has started the season at an elite level.

has been a wrecking ball for opposing offenses through the first four games in 2023. He's played his way into elite territory, as he's tied for the league lead in pressures with 27.said not much has changed regarding his role. Rather, he's started to execute at the highest of levels to start his second season.

"He's been doing the same things. So it's just the fact that guys around him, and even him, have been executing at a high level,"said."That's what you have to do in this league. I come from a place where the saying is, it's not what you play it's how you play. Where I was at, we didn't have a lot of calls, it was guys executing at a high level and the coaches made sure they put the players in positions to be successful.

Hutchinson has 3.5 of those quarterback takedowns and will continue to hunt for more patrolling the edge of Glenn's defense. "He's played well, but listen, he knows it. I know it, his coach that's in his room knows it, that he can improve on some things," Glenn explained."I would say this, this player wants to be the best and there's not a day that he doesn't go on that practice field and try to do that. Everything that he wants as a player, me as a coach is gonna try to give it to him because that's my job. He can accept that and he wants that.

The defining element for Detroit's defense, Glenn says, is trust. His defenses struggled throughout his first two seasons as the coordinator."I've always had confidence. Man, this league is tough. I've seen a lot of really, really good coaches not have success early and they're fired or whatnot, and they end up going somewhere where they have the time to get exactly how they want it to be," Glenn stated.

Striking auto workers and Detroit companies appear to make progress in contract talksStriking auto workers and Detroit companies appear to make progress in contract talksMeaningful progress has been made in the negotiations between the striking United Auto Workers union and Detroit’s three auto companies. That's according to a person with direct knowledge of the talks, who said some offers had been exchanged. Another said there was more movement in talks with Jeep maker Stellantis, with less at Ford and General Motors. Neither person wanted to be identified because they aren’t authorized to speak publicly about the bargaining. Union President Shawn Fain will update members Friday on talks toward bringing to an end the nearly 3-week-old strikes against the companies.
