Alex Van Pelt will be the new Browns QB coach while they add a veteran assistant to the offensive staff.
Van Pelt and Stefanski also know Musgrave well, and know that he’ll help mind the store well with his 20 years’ experience as an NFL coordinator and quarterbacks coach. He’s one of two Browns senior offensive assistants, including Kevin Rogers.
Beginning his NFL career as Raiders QB coach in 1997 and returning there as OC in 2015-16, Musgrave has also had stints in Philadelphia , Carolina , Jacksonville , Washington , Atlanta , Minnesota and Denver . Cooper is one of 11 Pro Bowlers Musgrave has coached in his career including center Rodney Hudson, tackle Matt Kalil, running back Latavius Murray, guard Kelechi Osemele, fullback Marcel Reece, tight end Kyle Rudolph, running back Adrian Peterson and trio of quarterbacks in Steve Beuerlein, Derek Carr and Matt Ryan.
During his five seasons as Falcons’ QB coach, Musgrave coached Michael Vick, Matt Schaub and Matt Ryan to some of the best seasons of their careers despite their varying skillsets.
