Most of the snow will fall in the mountains west of metro Denver, creating slick roads that could complicate travel
A mild breezy day with mostly sunny skies Thursday will end with a blast of cold wind from the north in the evening, bringing rain that is expected to shift to snow, according to the National Weather Service.
, weather service forecasters said. On the high plains east of Denver and along the Interstate 25 corridor, snow is expected Thursday night, forecasters said, though with light if any accumulation. The high temperature in Denver will be 68 degrees, with the low Thursday night around 34 degrees, according to the weather service. The wind Thursday evening is expected to gust at speeds up to 60 miles per hour and thunderstorms are possible as part of this cold front. On the northeastern plains, drivers likely will face blowing dust.
🌬️And regarding that blast of wind expected early this evening, most areas on the plains should see gusts of 40 to near 60 mph for a brief time. Areas of blowing dust possible northeast plains due to lack of recent precip.
