The Christkindlmarket will return for its second year at RiverEdge Park in Aurora beginning Friday, Nov. 17, organizers announced this week.
The Christkindlmarket in Aurora will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays.
In addition, the market will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 18, to Wednesday, Dec. 20, and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve., is a Chicago-based nonprofit organization that stages the Christkindlmarkets in Wrigleyville and the downtown area in Chicago as well as the event in Aurora.
The free outdoor holiday markets host international and local vendors who display and sell handcrafted ornaments, toys and special holiday gifts as well as traditional German food and beverages, organizers said. “We are excited to have all our staple vendors back at Daley Plaza, and proud to announce that we were able to add many new ones to our two other locations. Visitors get to shop from more than 50 vendors in Aurora and more than 40 in Wrigleyville,” said German American Events CEO and General Manager Maren Biester Priebe in a press release.
Special free and ticketed events will take place at all three markets, according to the release. They will be announced at the end of September.
