A Heat Advisory and Air Quality Alert (Ozone Action Day) are in effect for North Texas on Sunday. Expect near-record temperatures heading into next week.
A woman named Maria shields herself from the hot sun as she walks home from Walmart near AT&T Stadium.A heat wave continues across the entire region thanks to high pressure in the upper levels of the atmosphere. Unfortunately, there’s no significant break from the heat showing up anytime soon. In fact, it will only get hotter as we head into next week. A Heat Advisory and Air Quality Alert are in effect for Sunday.
Highs will be close to records much of next week, with temperatures reaching 105 to 106 on a regular basis. The humidity will remain low. So that means the Heat Index won’t be much higher than the actual air temperature. Rain chances are also likely to remain absent for at least the next 7-10 days. The low relative humidity combined with breezy and hot conditions will bring elevated fire danger to much of North Texas through next week.
