A heat advisory is in effect for most of southeast Texas June 9, 2022, according to the National Weather Service.'Dangerous' hot conditions are expected to hit southeast Texas throughout Saturday as a heat advisory is in effect for the region, according to the National Weather Service.The heat index will reach 108 in inland areas with an excessive heat advisory being issued for Houston, Madison, Brazos and Burleson counties, the NWS added.
Clouds are anticipated to roll in Saturday night and drop temperatures in the region back down into the 70s and 80s. A slight chance of thunderstorms on Sunday morning may keep temperatures mild before heating back up to 101 degrees, the NWS forecast shows with heat index highs reaching 109. Residents are encouraged to stay indoors, stay hydrated and never leave children and pets unattended in vehicles, the weather service stated.
