A councillor raised concerns about one Glasgow crematorium being in a 'dilapidated' state
The renovation of two major Glasgow City Council owned crematoriums are to be completed this year, it has been confirmed.
The local authority undertakes an average 5500 cremations per year at its locations at Linn and Daldowie. Councillor Stephen Docherty said: “In relation to Linn, is there going to be any investment in the building in the near future because unfortunately I was there for a few funerals recently and the place is in a pretty dilapidated state.”
The official said: “This is due to commence later this year. It will predominantly be dealing with mechanical and electrical but there will be a significant amount of money spent on the aesthetics as well.”
