Dad has to double take Tesco receipt as bottle of own-brand milk costs more than a brand new KETTLE
A dad said he was left horrified when he found own-brand Tesco bottles of milk costing more than kettles in the supermarket. Mark Hodgkinson, a dad-of-five, had to double take his receipt when he popped in to buy some bottles of milk for his family.
The 20% price difference is something Mark, who doesn't currently work, says is 'unjustifiable' and a stark example of the cost of living crisis as he branded it 'the world's most expensive milk'. "We struggle with things such as gas and electricity. We've always said the kids wouldn't be cold, and some days gas and electricity are costing us £18 a day. It's horrendous. The cost of living at the moment is absolutely horrendous, this is maybe an example of that.
The post racked up more than 1,000 likes, with many baffled by the price difference. One wrote: "We can buy petrol here cheaper than milk."
