The Montgomery County District Attorney’s office has filed a motion to drop the sexual abuse case against former state lawmaker Perry Hooper Jr. The decision comes after the accuser in the case issued a statement last week asking for the dismissal.

“Based upon the lack of evidence due to Victim’s unwillingness to cooperate, the State of Alabama moves to nolle pross this matter.”and charged with first-degree sexual abuse over an alleged incident that happened Aug. 16 at a political fundraiser at Ravello Ristorante in downtown Montgomery. An affidavit filed at that time said that Hooper approached the victim from behind, grabbed her breasts and waist, shoved his pelvis into her backside and began kissing her neck before she was able to break free.for sexual abuse in the first degree, a Class C felony, in November.
