Weeton Road was closed in both directions between Garstang Road North and Catherine Street
Police and paramedics were called to reports of a road traffic collision on Weeton Road in Wesham. Lancashire Constabulary said the call came in shortly after 7am today and the road was closed in both directions between Garstang Road North and Catherine Street.
One person on social media said: "AVOID Weeton Road Wesham outside of the Co-op. A lady has been knocked off her bike. 3 responder cars and 1 police van."In a statement on Facebook this morning, Fylde Police said: "We are currently dealing with a road traffic collision on Weeton Road Wesham. The road is currently closed between the junction with Garstang Road North and Catherine Street. The road is expected to be closed for sometime.
Traffic monitoring service Inrix reported that the road reopened at around 10.15am. Police confirmed that a cyclist sustained 'minor injuries' following the collision and no arrests have been reported. In a statement to LancsLive, a force spokesperson said: "Call was 7.10am, collision between a car and bike – cyclist has minor injuries, being taken to hospital."
