The man was found unconscious in the road by a passer-by
Police have said the cause of death appears to have been a cardiac arrest.
An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said:"We were called to St Albans Road in Watford at 10.24pm yesterday with reports that a man was laying in the road. "An ambulance, rapid response vehicle, a senior paramedic in a support vehicle and a response car from the Magpas Air Ambulance were sent to the scene.The road was closed while police and ambulance crews attempted to save him before it was reopened around 11.45pm.
A resident living nearby said that “hero” paramedics did everything they could and ambulances arrived within about 10 minutes of the man being found.
