James Moreton has been deemed a dangerous offender which attracted an extended sentence
A teenager stabbed another boy in the eye with a crossbow - then offered his victim money in a desperate bid to swerve justice.
Initially, his victim, 18, thought he hadn't been badly injured, but was soon rushed to hospital where he was put in an induced coma. This lasted for six days. After being arrested and charged, he was remanded in custody. While on remand, Moreton tried to get his victim to drop the charges. The victim was contacted by an associate of Moreton, who made threats and offered money.
Judge Richard Archer deemed him a dangerous offender which attracted an extended sentence. He will have to serve two thirds of the sentence before being eligible for release.
