As the head of the FCC announces that he is satisfied by the merger conditions T-Mobile and Sprint have offered, consumer advocates look to states and DoJ to take down the deal on antistrust grounds

Some of the highlights of those commitments, which could become binding conditions of the FCC's merger approval: a pledge to build a 5G wireless network that would reach 99% of Americans within six years of the deal closing; a commitment not to raise prices three years; a promise to sell off Boost, Sprint's prepaid phone brand.
"Boost is currently just another brand name for a service that uses Sprint's network on the back end," he added."No matter how many virtual operators like Boost resell and repackage service from AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile and Sprint, the fundamental competitive bottleneck of the major carriers remains."
