MUMBAI - India all-rounder Hardik Pandya and batsman KL Rahul have been each ordered to pay 2 million rupees towards charity within a month for their comments about women in a television chat-show, a board ombudsman has ruled.
Indian cricket administrators recalled Pandya and Rahul from a tour of Australia and charged them with misconduct and indiscipline after remarks condemned on social media as sexist, racist and misogynist. A committee of administrators that is running Indian cricket had asked the Supreme Court to appoint an ombudsman to investigate the case and determine if the pair had brought the game into disrepute.
