Libraries in Fort Worth closed early Monday after police received what they say was a credible bomb threat at multiple facilities.
Tracy Carter, a Fort Worth police spokesman, said the city’s fire and police departments evacuated city libraries because of the threats directed at “one or all” of the facilities.“We will continue to work with our libraries and city personnel to insure the safety of our citizens,” Carter said in a written statement.
The Fort Worth public library account tweeted shortly before 6 p.m. facilities would close temporarily. There are 17 libraries managed by the city, according to the Fort Worth public library website.. Hojun Choi covers breaking news. He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin.
