A first-team All-Big 12 linebacker in 2022 and two-time Butkus Award semifinalist, Overshown’s blend of power, speed and length appealed to Dallas as it looked to bolster its defense.
A proud native of Arp who donned a black cowboy hat before most games, Overshown was a key member of the Longhorns’ star-studded 2018 signing class. 247Sports.com graded Overshown as a five-star recruit and one of the nation’s top-six safeties along with classmates Caden Sterns and B.J. Foster.
