Pilot Richard Noble will reunite with Thrust 2, which reached 633mph in Nevada 40 years ago to the day.
Richard Noble, pictured in the Black Rock Desert, Nevada, in 1997An entrepreneur is celebrating the anniversary of a land speed record he broke in Nevada 40 years ago.
The Thrust 2 project began with a budget of just £175 - money that came from the sale of the wreckage of Mr Noble's first jet-engine car, Thrust 1, which he crashed in 1977. Mr Noble said the inexperienced project team battled financial challenges, weather adversity and a high-speed accident to triumph in the "pre-eminent motor sport challenge".
"Despite this, the car achieved its design speed which made it one of the most successful land speed record cars of all time."
