Country star GrangerSmith will hit the road for one more tour before ending his music career. Smith shared in a video posted to Facebook that he has 'felt a strong desire to pursue ministry' and will serve his local church after this summer’s tour.

I just want to glorify God the best way that I can.
The singer-songwriter explained that he has been working on a book, Like a River, set to be released on Aug. 1. The book will detail a spiritual encounter that Smith had with God following the drowning death of his son in 2019. It is described as"a triumphant story of new life birthed out of tragedy, [teaching] readers how to face their failures, confront their pain, and connect with God — the true source of life."
In reflecting on his musical career and what the future might hold, Smith said he is excited to “focus more on individual people and their lives.” "Being a musician was never a prison, but this is a new passion, a new focus, a new direction that I believe is going to allow me to focus more on individual people and their lives, which is ultimately why I started music touring in the very beginning," Smith said in a recent report."This is an even more microfocused position in that. I'm not going anywhere.
