Coronation Street star Ryan Prescott has opened up about the impending exit of co-star Chris Gascoyne. Fans were already under the impression that the actor would be leaving the ITV soap at some point before the end of this year as Peter Barlow.
Chris first appeared as Peter in 2000 during Corrie's 40th anniversary live episode. He then left the role in 2003 and returned in 2007 for a brief stint before returning full-time in 2008. In January 2014 it was confirmed that Chris would be leaving once again, but the following year he did reprise the role for two episodes for the funeral of Deirdre Barlow, played by Anne Kirkbride.
Speaking at the Inside Soap Awards, Ryan exclusively told The Mirror: "I'm not sure what I can say but I think whatever fashion he leaves in, it will be between them two [Carla and Peter] primarily and it will be something special. They're two incredible actors, the chemistry between them on set it bleeds into everything else going on. Whatever it is they'll be fantastic.
