The 32-year-old lost control and crashed into a utility pole and fence Sunday morning, authorities said.
Matthew McCorkel, 32, of York Springs, lost control and crossed from the east to westbound side of York Road around 5 a.m. Sunday, the Cumberland County Coroner’s Office said. The crash happened near the Myers Road intersection.
McCorkel’s Nissan Frontier hit a utility pole and continued east on the westbound side of the road, hitting a wooden fence before coming to a rest, according to the Pennsylvania State Police.Cumberland County Coroner Charley Hall said McCorkel died from multiple traumatic injuries. His death was ruled accidental.
State police are investigating the crash. It’s unclear what caused McCorkel to lose control and veer off the road.
