Authorities are working to identify a suspect in a Wednesday morning shooting in Newark that left one dead, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens II said.
Police responded to a report of shots fired near the 100 block of Weequahic Avenue at 10:33 a.m., officials said. Officers located Murad Loyal, 44, of Florham Park, who was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, prosecutors said.The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office is asking anyone with information to call its tip line at 1-877-847-7432.
