Officer Brendan Thompson, along with his partner Herbert Davis, will be prosecuted by the Civilian Complaint Review Board on internal charges of excessive force, abuse of authority and failure to obtain medical treatment in the death of 32-year-old Kawaski Trawick.
The NYPD has set aside five straight days in its internal courtroom at One Police Plaza for the trial, but the proceedings could wrap up earlier. Both cops have been cleared of criminal wrongdoing by the Bronx District Attorney’s Office and have not faced disciplinary action by the NYPD.The officers banged on Trawick’s door and barged in after the door opened slightly, body camera video shows.
