Renfrewshire politicians have told of their disappointment following the permanent closure of a popular Braehead leisure facility.
how Braehead Leisure Partnership had taken the decision to shut the indoor ski slope at XSite Braehead for good following a number of investigations into its viability.
The SNP politician told The Glasgow Times:"I have been in contact with the management company since January 2022 when the initial closure was announced and have worked constructively with them in the hope that another operator would be willing to take on the ski slope.and its loss will be felt by the many individuals and groups who have used this facility over the years.
"I am aware that there are exciting plans for the future of this community asset, albeit in a different form which will create jobs and investment here in Renfrewshire." He added:"I can't say it's come as a huge surprise given the sharp rise in energy costs since the site closed.
