San Diegans got their first look at a police proposal to install hundreds of streetlight cameras and automatic license plate readers across the city — and some came away with questions.

Jordon said the data would be secured with 256-bit, end-to-end encryption — methods used to keep data secure. “It’s pretty strong encryption,” he said.
