An encompassing and more permanent record of the George Floyd murals is available in the book “Art Activism Action”.

In the spring of 2020, during protests following the murders of

coordinated the project under the heading #ArtUnitesCbus and paid artists a fee of about $250. Many artists donated that money to charity.Following the protests, the murals were saved, and many were displayed for the next two years on cubes throughout the city. The last mural came down in January 2022. Having been out in the weather, many of the murals deteriorated but some are still intact and stored at GCAC.

Floyd is currently running a nonprofit group, We Are Floyd, which serves the community by hosting giveaways and other events; supporting businesses and addressing social issues such as poverty and police brutality. In addition to the essays and images, the interactive book includes a variety of on-topic short films, dances and poetry readings – all available via QR codes.
