Bellinger hit two home runs and Freeman one in the Dodgers 10-2 victory over the Padres Sunday afternoon.
SAN DIEGO — The power went out in a portion of downtown San Diego Saturday night, emptying the bars in Gaslamp Quarter for awhile.Cody Bellinger homered twice and Freddie Freeman once as the Dodgers beat the San Diego Padres, 10-2, at Petco Park.
Freeman has certainly made himself at home in Dodger blue. When he stepped to the plate in the third inning Sunday, the familiar “Fred-die! Fred-die!” chants could be heard from the large percentage of Dodger fans staging their usual hostile takeover of the San Diego stadium. The two-run home run was just the start of Manaea’s troubles. Bellinger took him deep in the fourth inning, 405 feet to straightaway center field. Manaea didn’t survive a four-run fifth inning that featured Bellinger’s second home run of the day, this one a three-run mistake by Padres reliever Dinelson Lamet.
