Liam Freaney said he had the 'only EncroChat on the estate'
A dad of four with the “only Encrochat phone on the estate” sent sinister messages aiming to source a gun and silencer because “things need flattening out”.
Freaney appeared at Liverpool Crown Court on Friday for sentence after pleading guilty to conspiracies to supply cocaine, heroin and cannabis and conspiracy to possess a prohibited weapon. He told PoundCake: “Just get me one… things need flattened [sic]…. I’ll buy one don't wanna lend one” On April 18, 2020, PoundCake indicated the weapon was being sent that day and would arrive within 10 days.
Examples of his dealing were revealed in messages from Freaney to an EncroChat user with the handle ‘GenericBull’, sent on March 28, 2020, revealing he had paid £39,000 cash for cocaine in the “last couple of days alone”. Mr Forte said: “In the pyramid of drug-dealing he’s not at the bottom with the one gram or one eighth deals, but he is the one who supplies to those who cut it down to those amounts.”
