Football club issues statement after ex-United player Robbie Savage subject to 'discriminatory' abuse at match
A community football club has warned fans they could be 'ejected from the ground' after a former Manchester United player was subject to 'abhorrent abuse'.
Mr Savage, who works as a pundit on TNT Sports and the BBC, was the subject of abuse from a 'small minority' in the crowd, according to Macclesfield FC. Curzon Ashton issued a statement condemning 'discriminatory behaviour' following a 'few incidents' that took place at last night's match, which Macclesfield won 4-1.
"It has no place at the Nash or in any of our communities. If a supporter is found to be using discriminatory language or partaking in anti-social behaviour, they will be ejected from the ground.
