Clippers’ Kawhi Leonard will miss Game 3 tonight, report says
The Clippers have decided Kawhi Leonard will sit out Thursday night’s Game 3 against the Phoenix Suns at Crypto.com Arena because of a sprained right knee.Leonard apparently injured his knee in a Game 1 victory Monday in Phoenix, but played through it in a Game 2 loss Wednesday. His status is unclear for Game 4 on Saturday afternoon, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
The injury leaves the Clippers without their top two stars. Paul George has been out since March 21, also with a sprained right knee. In the first two games of the first-round series, Leonard has averaged 34.5 points on 54.5% shooting with 6.5 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game. He missed all last season after having surgery for a torn anterior cruciate ligament that he suffered in the 2021 playoffs.
