Clippers 95, Rockets 93: Houston comes up short at the buzzer
LA Clippers forward Paul George shoots against Houston Rockets guard Eric Gordon during the second half of an NBA basketball game in Los Angeles, Monday, Oct. 31, 2022. The Clippers won 95-93. LOS ANGELES — The Rockets did nearly everything necessary to win.
The Rockets ran a play to get the ball to Gordon, and he got loose. But his left-handed drive came up short with two seconds remaining as the Clippers took the win, ending their skid. That also opened opportunities for him to look to drive with the defense not set and waiting, as is often the case when the Rockets get stagnant. In the second half, it let him move to the low post, where he has been the most efficient scorer in the NBA this season.
