McBurney's new gigs have ranged in size and scope, from voiceover work for the Natural History Museum of New York to a children’s TV special, “Paddington Saves Christmas.” And her perseverance is starting to pay off.

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Christine McBurney has accomplished a lot in her 25 years in the Cleveland theater scene.

“We talked about the perils of curly hair,” McBurney said of her on-set interaction with the Golden Globe-winning actress. “Watching Sandra Oh do different takes was like a master class.”She was hooked. And as the COVID-19 shutdown dragged on, she realized theater was going to “be the last thing to come back.” So, she focused her attention on landing speaking roles on television, learning as much as she could online and taking classes at Cleveland’s Houde School of Acting.

“I’m working my butt off, getting myself out there every day,” she said. “I would say on average, I have a project a month which is pretty darn good.” Until then, she stays very busy, coaching aspiring actors online, making audition tapes, enjoying her new surroundings and getting used to life in the big city.
