In January, Patrol Officer Melissa Marquard traveled to a fellow officer’s home in Lakewood, where Marquard’s sister used screws to flatten the tires of two cars parked in the driveway, according to an Oct. 31 disciplinary letter.
CLEVELAND, Ohio – A city police officer conspired to puncture the car tires of two fellow Cleveland officers, earning her a 20-day suspension without pay, recently released city documents show.
The cars belonged to Marquard’s former boyfriend and his female friend, who lived in the Lakewood home, according to a Lakewood police report. The owner of that car — a male Cleveland officer — told the Lakewood police officer he had recently ended a three-month relationship with Marquard and that she was upset he had befriended the female officer.
Lakewood police also obtained surveillance footage from a neighbor, which showed a car approaching the victim’s home at an unknown time and shining a flashlight onto the property, according to the police report.
