The Cleveland Museum of Art has acquired its first contemporary sculpture by a Native American artist as part of the latest round of acquisitions approved by trustees in June.

CLEVELAND, Ohio —

The museum provided cleveland.com and The Plain Dealer with a description of the new acquisitions, which also include a collection of five, 17th-century Nabeshima porcelain dishes from Hizen Province in Kyushu, Japan’s southernmost island; several 18th-century European drawings by Dutch artist Jacob de Wit and British artist Richard Cosway; and an important postwar Korean abstraction by artist Park Seo Bo.
